How Much Does This Cost?

In my first ever solo exhibition titled ‘How much does this cost?’, I wanted to celebrate the diversity and vivacity that is unique to the Mangere Town Centre. The below portraits highlight not only the variety of businesses operating at the Mangere Town Centre, but also puts a spotlight on the owners themselves. The following collection extends our conversation beyond “How much does this cost?”, to reveal the person behind the shop counter and their backstory. The exhibition ran for eight weeks at the Mangere Arts Centre in 2019 and was funded by Mangere-Otahuhu Creative Arts and Creative New Zealand.
